Christine Tomlinson – Executive Director

Christine Tomlinson was born and raised in Southern California and graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration. She has over 25 years of experience in the senior living and health care industry. Her expertise is in various health care delivery systems, including skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, assisted living, hospice and dementia care.

She returns to Long Beach to serve as the Executive Director of Regency Palms, an 82-unit senior living community that will provide assisted living, short term rehabilitation services, home health, hospice, and dementia care.

Christine has been an active participant in the health care community with organizations such as the California Assisted Living Association and the California Health Facilities. Her position as Executive Director allows her the unique opportunity to combine her interest in business with her passion for service. She demonstrates this professionally and personally with her involvement in several charity organizations. Most recently, Christine served as a team captain for the Walk for Alzheimer’s sponsored by Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles. In addition to participating in the walk, Christine organized several fundraisers for the organization. She is also involved in the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and helps to feed the homeless with her church.

Nancy Lopez – Memory Care Director

Nancy Lopez has worked in various positions in assisted living since 2004.  She has a B.A. in Social Gerontology from CSULA and is currently working on her M.A. in Human Development at Pacific Oaks College. Her passion and commitment to the aging population is what encourages her to continue developing and innovating activities and programming that improve the quality of life for our residents.

Alex Ayala – Dining Services Director

Chef Alex started working with seniors at the age of 16. He attended the Arts Institute Culinary School and worked at Katsuya for SBE. Chef Alex has received numerous prestigious awards including: Chef of the Year Merrill Gardens 2014, Runner Up BBQ Champion 2016, and Best Dining Program 2016, among others. Tyler Newman – Community Relations Director

Tyler Newman entered the senior living industry after graduating from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Prior to joining Regency Palms, Tyler served as the Community Relations Manager with our sister community in Western Massachusetts, the Reserve at East Longmeadow.

Jonathan McFall – Sales Assistant

Jonathan McFall has always had a passion for working with seniors and helping the community. He immediately knew helping seniors was his calling after working at his first senior living community at age 18. Jonathan attended Orange Coast College and then Cal State Long Beach, with a degree in Communication Studies. Jonathan has over 8 years working in with seniors now and that passion of helping others remains strong. As the Community Relations Coordinator at Regency Palms Jonathan takes pride in educating potential residents and family members about Senior Living and finding the best possible care for them.

Jefrrel Rethwill – Wellness Nurse

Jefrrel Rethwill grew up with a passion for Nursing. She began her career in caregiver assisting seniors in their homes. Providing care and moments of joy to seniors is what motivated her to further her education in healthcare. She graduated nursing school in 2012. For the past 6 years it has been her pleasure to work in senior living communities in California as well as Washington State, as an LVN. She enjoys meeting with residents and their families, providing support during difficult times.
